Pickerington Dance Academy
is owned and operated by Sandy Brownfield.
Sandy has been
dancing for over 30 years. Born and
raised in Columbus, Ohio, she began taking dance lessons at an early age at a
local dance studio. Soon thereafter
she was in competition dance lines, competing and performing all over the United
States.
Sandy was awarded a dance scholarship to Tyler College in Texas where she
furthered her dance education.
While in college, she was captain of the
Apache Belles Dance Team.
The world famous Apache Belles perform all over Texas, the United States
and abroad. While in Texas she also taught dance and gymnastics at a local
studio. Returning to Ohio, she
continued studying dance at The Ohio State University.
Over the years, Sandy's choreography has been
recognized with numerous awards. In addition, her competition dance teams
have consistently received top honors at both local and national levels.
These days, Sandy keeps her skills up-to-date by attending dance seminars and
clinics.
Her expertise includes Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Gymnastics, Lyrical,
Cheerleading and Baton. In addition, she had
previously been the
Coach/Advisor of the
Pickerington North High School Dance Team "The Panthers
Dance Force".
Sandy was recently honored by the
NAPEW -- the National Association of Professional & Executive Women -- and made
an exclusive member in their Registry for "Women of Excellence."
